You DON’T Wanna Miss These 10 Movie Sequels Coming Out in 2018

This year, a lot of movie goers and fans got disappointed with so many Box office flops like Power Rangers, Life, Ghost In The Shell, Baywatch and even Guy Ritchie‘s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. These big budget movies failed to impress the audience and some even couldn’t earn back their cost. There are still a number of good movies slated to come out this year like Annabelle: Creation, IT, Justice League and Star Wars: The Last Jedi so you can say that 2017 hasn’t been a complete disappointment. But 2018 on the other hand, is already looking really impressive and is lined up with some of the most-anticipated movie sequels (PLOTS EXPLAINED) that you just can’t afford to miss.

10. Mission Impossible 6

First up, it’s Mission Impossible 6. Tom Cruise will be making his return as the unstoppable, Ethan Hunt alongside Ving RhamesSimon PeggRebecca Ferguson, and Alec BaldwinMan of Steel actor Henry Cavill will be joining the franchise and possibly take on the role of Jeremy Renner who won’t be appearing in MI:6 as he’ll be busy shooting Avengers 4If you think that Mission Impossible 5 – Rouge Nation had some crazy stunts, Cruise is reportedly going to push the boundaries even further and is set to perform the most dangerous stunt of his life in Mission Impossible 6. The movie is set to hit theaters on July 27, 2018. 

9. Bumblebee Movie

Transformers spin off, Bumblebee movie is finally happening. Paramount Pictures made the official announcement earlier this month and also revealed that the movie will be headlined by WWE Superstar John Cena and the talented Hailee SteinfeldBumblebee movie is set in 1987 and takes place before the events of the current Transformers franchise. This time, director Travis Knight (Coraline, Kubo and the Two Strings) will be directing the movie instead of franchise regular Michael Bay who will serve as the executive producer alongside the legendary Steven Spielberg. The rest of the cast members are also new to the franchise and the plot seems interesting as well. Bumblebee movie is set to release on December 21, 2018. 

8. X-Men: The New Mutants

X-Men: The New Mutants is said to reboot the multi-million dollar X-Men franchise. As the title suggests, the movie will introduce new mutants to the ever-expanding X-Men franchise. Naturally, some fresh faces have been brought on board including Game of Thrones star Maisie WilliamsSplit star Anya Taylor-Joy and Queen of The South actor Alice Braga. There are rumors that James McAvoy who plays Professor X in the X-Men franchise may appear in this reboot along with some of the X-Men: Apocalypse stars but it’s not official yet. The movie is scheduled to release on April 13, 2018

7. The Incredibles 2

Fans have been really demanding the sequel of Pixar’s hit animated movie The Incredibles (2004) for a long time. Finally, The Incredibles 2 is coming out on June 15, 2018, after a gap of 14 years. The superhero family is going to have the original voice over cast namely Craig T. Nelson as Mr. Incredible, Holly Hunter as Elastigirl and Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone. Make sure to mark your calendars. 

6. Mary Poppins Returns

Emily Blunt will be returning as the enigmatic and magical nanny, Mary Poppins once again in the musical Mary Poppins Returns. The movie is set in 1930s depression era London. The children have grown up and after the Banks family goes through a personal loss, the nanny comes back into their lives. She utilizes her magical skills in a unique way in order to set the family on the right and prosperous path. Mary Poppins Returns will be released on Christmas day 2018

5. Fifty Shades Freed

The third and final movie of the Fifty Shades franchise will be releasing on February 9, 2018. Anastasia (Dakota Johnson) and Christian (Jamie Dornan) are a couple now and living happily together but things take a turn for the worse when Christian’s past comes back and devastates Anastasia. 

4. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne will once again return as Newt Scamander in the untitled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel. This time, Scamander will join forces with a young Albus Dumbledore in order to foil the evil plans of Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) in 1920s Paris. The screenplay has been written by none other than the phenomenal J. K Rowling herself. Be sure to check this movie out on November 16, 2018

3. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

The fifth installment of the mega hit Jurassic Park franchise is coming to theaters on June 22, 2018, and is titled Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Actors Chris Pratt (Owen) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire) from 2015s hit Jurassic World will be reprising their roles. Reportedly, actors James Cromwell (The Green Mile, Babe) and Justice Smith (The Get Down) will also be introduced in undisclosed roles. 

2. Deadpool 2 

Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool 2 will make its way to theaters across the world on June 1, 2018. With the addition of new fan-favorite Marvel characters Domino (Zazie Beetz) and Cable (Josh Brolin), it’s safe to say that Deadpool 2 is going to be bigger and bag more bucks than the first one. Recently, the tragic news of the death of a Deadpool 2 stunt woman doubling for Zazie Beetz came from the movie’s Vancouver set. The production has understandably halted, for now, however, according to Fox, the movie’s release will not be postponed. 

1. Avengers: Infinity War

Undoubtedly the most anticipated movie of 2018, Avengers: Infinity War will be hitting theaters on April 25, 2018. According to directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Infinity War will feature almost 70 characters and reshape the entire MCU as we know it. Naturally, Marvel is keeping the plot of Avengers: Infinity War a closely guarded secret, but there are rumors that several major characters will die while battling the mightiest Marvel villain, Thanos (Josh Brolin). Not only that, Marvel’s head of visual development, Ryan Meinerding recently released a poster revealing Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) as Nomad and a Blonde Black Widow.
