Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds recently gave an interview to talk about his latest movie with Samuel L. Jackson The Hitman’s Bodyguard. In the same interview, he got the chance to talk about Wade Wilson as well. Reynolds seemed excited to talk about a Deadpool & Avengers R-rated crossover and we believe if there is anyone who can pull it off, it’s definitely him. Currently, Deadpool and X-Men both belong to Fox and they are not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, in light of the recent successful deal between Sony and MCU which resulted in Spiderman: Home Coming, a similar deal between MCU and Fox can definitely take place down the road.
Reynolds was talking to Total Film and this is what he said:
“That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea. Can you imagine the shit-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go…”
The idea sounds like music to fans’ ears but may not happen on the big screen. Primarily because Marvel’s president Kevin Feige has promised the fans that upcoming Avengers: Infinity War & Avengers 4 will spell the end of MCU as we know it. Avengers: Infinity War will feature around 70 characters that will join forces to battle the strongest Marvel villain, Thanos (Josh Brolin). The battle is said to be of epic proportions and will spread across 2 movies. Still, it seems unlikely that we may see Deadpool with Avengers without a deal taking place between MCU and Fox.
There may be a possibility of something like this happening after the events of Avengers 4, but it’s a big maybe. Meanwhile, Avengers: Infinity War has finished production and is set to release on April 25, 2018. The production of Deadpool 2 came to a sudden and unfortunate halt when a Deadpool 2 stunt woman named Joi SJ Harris died on the set but now the production has resumed once again. Deadpool 2 is due to release on June 1, 2018. Stay tuned for more and latest Hollywood news.
