It’s no secret that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be Marvel’s biggest movie and according to Marvel’s president Kevin Feige, it’s going to be a lot darker than the usual Marvel movies fans have enjoyed watching over the years. Avengers: Infinity War trailer came out 3 weeks ago and became the most watched trailer in Hollywood’s as well as YouTube’s history in just 24 hours of its release. Infinity War is set to hit theaters on May 4, 2018, and is the first of 2 movies that will spell the end of the current MCU as we know it. Understandably, the hype is simply off the charts and now in light of what Kevin Feige revealed at the recently held Comic-Con in Brazil, things just got more intense. The character of Thanos (Josh Brolin) was teased for the first time in the post-credit scenes of The Avengers movie back in 2012. Since then, Thanos has been touted as the biggest and baddest villain in Marvel’s history that the Earth’s mightiest superheroes will go up against in Avengers: Infinity War and the following Avengers 4. According to Kevin Feige, fans will know exactly how strong the Mad Titan Thanos is, in the first 5 minutes of Infinity War. This is what the producer said at the 2017 Comic-Con in Brazil:
“Well, it’s certainly the biggest movie we’ve ever made. It is still shooting, we’ve been shooting all year long and Josh is doing an amazing job of playing Thanos. You know, we’ve been teasing Thanos since the very first Avengers film. Remember the end of Avengers, the very end of the movie he turns around in the chair and you realize something bad is coming. We’ve been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver. So, within the first five minutes of Infinity War people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
Thanos is certainly the strongest villain in the MCU powerful enough to end the current MCU. However, the producer further mentioned that as strong and invincible Thanos maybe, he’ll bring a group of supervillains known as the Black Order to assist him in his quest (not that he needs any). Feige added that fans will see some of the familiar faces helping Thanos which explains why Loki, brother of Thor was shown handing over the Tesseract to Thanos in the Infinity War trailer. However, since its Loki we are talking about, we can’t really predict the actual intentions of the God of Mischief, just yet. Here is what Feige said:
“He’s got some company. He’s got some old faces that you’ll recognize. A certain brother of Thor might show up for a while with him and he has his own team called the Black Order which is a brand-new selection of villains. But really, Thanos doesn’t need much help. He can pretty much take care of it himself.”
Something like this coming from the Marvel’s president himself is rare since Marvel likes to keep things under the wraps and tight-lipped. Marvel has been selling Thanos as the worst and most powerful villain in Marvel’s history and it looks like they intend to show just that as soon as the movie starts. As things stand, if there’s anyone who can meet and even exceed the expectations of diehard superhero movies fans, its definitely Marvel. Stay tuned for more and latest Hollywood news.
