Creed 2 Will Be Featuring Ivan Drago’s Son

Sylvester Stallone’s Creed 2 landed an official release date of November 18, 2018, just a few days ago and it looks like now things are finally picking up for the highly-anticipated sequel. Stallone is going to direct Creed 2 on a script that he wrote himself and has been teasing the fans on social media that Ivan Drago played by Dolph Lundgren in Rocky IV will be making a return in Creed 2. Right after that, Dolph Lundgren posted an intense training video on social media, almost confirming the rumors that perhaps viewers are going to see Adonis (Michael B. Jordan) Creed going one on one against the deadly Russian boxer who killed his father, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) in the fourth Rocky installment. However, it seems like that may not be the main plot of Creed 2 fans had been anticipating. MMA fighter Sage Northcutt recently revealed in an interview hinting that Ivan Drago’s son may be a big part of the sequel and he has put together an audition tape for the role as well. In his own words:

“The new Creed 2 movie is coming out so I was actually going to audition for that. Got a little audition tape, so hopefully, that goes through. That would be pretty neat. Being Ivan Drago’s son in the movie? That would be pretty fun. Sylvester Stallone seems like a really cool guy, and Dolph Lundgren seems awesome. I think me and Mr. Dolph Lundgren look kind of alike.”

Sage Northcutt doesn’t have any acting experience but he does look similar to a younger Ivan Drago and is pretty confident that he’ll get the part. Of course, there might be several other young actors who’ll be gunning for the role but Sage makes a pretty strong case for himself by posting a photoshopped picture of himself to Twitter that shows the similar looks he shares with a younger Dolph Lundgren.

Whether or not Northcutt gets the part, this almost confirms that Creed 2 is going to feature Ivan Drago’s son and that is definitely going to fuel the hype of Creed 2 even moreRyan Coogler, who directed Creed won’t be returning this time and the project is very much in the capable hands of Sylvester Stallone, who is not only the writer, director, and producer of the movie but will also act alongside Michael B. Jordan. Creed 2 is scheduled to begin filming in February 2018 so it looks like we’ll be hearing more Creed 2 casting news very soon. We’ll make sure to keep you updated with all Creed 2 development so stay tuned for more and latest Hollywood news.
